Macquarie Private Wealth sponsors new CAPO award

The Capital Arts Patrons’ Organisation (CAPO) is a volunteer non-profit organisation that has supported the ACT region’s artists for 29 years. Since its establishment in 1983, CAPO has disbursed over 1.8 million dollars in arts fellowships and awards with support from Canberra’s local, national and international business communities.

CAPO awards support all forms of art and media. Award applications are invited from artists and arts organisations from Canberra and the region. Past award winners include performing artists and companies, visual artists and arts organisations, contemporary craft, artists, designer makers, musicians, filmmakers, new media artists and writers.

CAPO is extremely pleased to announce a new award in 2012 sponsored by Macquarie Private Wealth in Canberra. The Macquarie Private Wealth Award will be open to all artists working across all art forms in the Canberra region.

CAPO seeks to foster the highest standards of excellence in the arts, whether the individual or organisation seeking support is of professional or amateur standing. Innovative endeavours that contribute to cultural development in Canberra are encouraged.

CAPO Award winners will be announced at CAPO’s annual fund raising art auction and party being held this year on the 8th of September at M16 Artspace.

Applications must be received by close of business Friday 3 August.
